Kurt Russell Is One Bad Motherfucker
On par with Bruce Willis imo. This scene from "The Thing" illustrates my point:
He uses a fucking flamethrower! I highly recommend people watch "The Thing," it's both hilarious and scary as fuck (sometimes it's a mix between the two).

A Perfectly Cromulent Word
Now all I need is for them to add "intenseful" and I'll be completely happy.

Nothing to get excited about: The indifferent 'meh' gains place in English dictionary
By JILL LAWLESS
Associated Press Writer
6:23 PM CST, November 16, 2008
LONDON (AP) _ At least someone is excited about "meh."
The expression of indifference or boredom has gained a place in the Collins English Dictionary after generating a surprising amount of enthusiasm among lexicographers.
Publisher HarperCollins announced Monday the word had been chosen from terms suggested by the public for inclusion in the dictionary's 30th anniversary edition, to be published next year.
The origins of "meh" are murky, but the term grew in popularity after being used in a 2001 episode of "The Simpsons" in which Homer suggests a day trip to his children Bart and Lisa.
"They both just reply 'meh' and keep watching TV," said Cormac McKeown, head of content at Collins Dictionaries.
The dictionary defines "meh" as an expression of indifference or boredom, or an adjective meaning mediocre or boring. Examples given by the dictionary include "the Canadian election was so meh."
The dictionary's compilers said the word originated in North America, spread through the Internet and was now entering British spoken English.
"This is a new interjection from the U.S. that seems to have inveigled its way into common speech over here," McKeown said. "Internet forums and e-mail are playing a big part in formalizing the spellings of vocal interjections like these. A couple of other examples would be 'hmm' and 'heh.'
"Meh" was selected by Collins after it asked people to submit words they use in conversation that are not in the dictionary. Other suggestions included jargonaut, a fan of jargon; frenemy, an enemy disguised as a friend; and huggles, a hybrid of hugs and snuggles.

Nothing Like Bad Service At Harlem Hospital
Went for my second appointment in two months, and boy do they care about their patients! [/sarcasm] I was there for about four hours just to get my flu shot. At least the doctor I saw this time wasn't a fucking twat like the asshat from two months ago.
A few quotes from my time over there:
Lady talking to someone using a hospital phone while crying (presumably about insurance): "YOU CAN'T GET NOTHIN' DONE WITHOUT CUSSIN SOMEONE OUT. I TRIED TO SHOW YOU SOME RESPECT AND I ASK THAT YA'LL DO THE SAME! PEOPLE GOTS TA CUSS IN ORDER TO GET WHAT THEY WANT- IT'S SAD BUT IT'S TRUE."
Black dude who'd been waiting since 11:30 AM (Around 3:30 PM at this point)- "DEM BLACK DOMINICANS GOT IT BAD. IN AMERICA, IF YOU BLACK AND YOU DON'T KNOW ENGLISH, YOU IN TROUBLE!" "NAW MAN, AMERICA RAPED VIETNAM."
Same black dude waiting since 11:30 AM (Around 5 PM at this point): "THIS IS CRAZY RIGHT HEAH. I BEEN WAITIN SINCE 11:30, AND FOUR DOCTAZ GONE TO DINNAH..." *Fifth one leaves as he says this* "...AND NOW FIVE, DATS GREAT."
And of course, various people muttering cusses as they leave after waiting five hours for a rectal exam. Can't say I blame them.

Obama Is Prez
It's finally back to people not giving a shit about politics. You know, just like no one gives a shit about the Olympics once that's done. But that's fine I suppose, for I'd grown weary over the past year of all the Lib-tards spewing their "HUR HUR OBAMA IS 1337 AND IF HE DON'T WIN THEN AMERIKUH IS STUPID AND I'Z GOIN TO KANADUH" speech.
A few thoughts:
NUMBER 1)
Most people who vote are stupid/ misinformed.
NUMBER 1(Part 2))
Stupid/Misinformed people should not be allowed to vote. At the very least, everyone should have to take a test that would give them eligibility to vote. Consider this: Immigrants have to take a test to become citizens of the United States to presumably show some knowledge about the place they are living in. Why not the same for voting? Do you not have to take a test before you can legally drive? To get your diploma from college, do you/did you not have to take some tests along the way to get said diploma? If people really want to vote there will be no reason NOT to take a test that would figure out if you really know where a candidate stands on this issue or that issue. The whole "go out there and vote because you can not because you care" ideology is one of the stupidest things I've heard... ever. Might as well start blowing an AIDS-infected hobo because "you can" though I'm sure you'd care if he blew a load in your mouth. [/bad analogy]
NUMBER Dos)
How many people voted because they actually care about their country?
NUMBER CDEEZNUTZ)

NUMBER 2+2=4)
Say what you will about McCain, but his concession speech last night was awesome and I dare say better than Obama's own victory speech.
NUMBER Phive)
Phuck the Phillies... April cannot come soon enough.
NUMBER SixSuxSexSox)

Misogynistic? Definitely.
Funny? More so.
NUMBER OCHO CINCO)

2008 Mets Retrospective (Where It Went Wrong/Right)
The Mets failed to win on the last day of the season for the second consecutive year. While last year's debacle really got me upset, it wasn't all that shocking this year. I knew they had blown their chance when they were up 5-1 against the resting Cubs (who I'm now rooting for... them or the Dodgers anyway) and they failed to score in the 9th with a man on third and no outs. That was inexcusable and they deserved not to make the playoffs. So here we are in late September, now in the Mets offseason.
A few things I learned about the Mets this year:
1) They're not a come-from-behind team.
This was definitely one of the biggest problems the Mets had this year. Down three runs? Only came back to win twice the entire year, one of them happening during that Cubs series last week. Down four runs or more? Never won a game this year down that many runs. By contrast, they blew eight games in which they led by four runs or more. Again, that is simply inexcusable for any team. Two of those losses? The game they led against the Phillies 7-1 and the Cubs game I mentioned earlier. Both losses were brutal, and neither should have been allowed to happen. What does this say about them? The offense we have now isn't set up to come from behind because...
2) The offense is inconsistent.
If there was any consistency with the offense, it was this- score early and get the offensive limp dick late. The Mets were first in the league in run differential during the first three innings. Conversely, they were dead last in run differential in the last three innings. The offense was far too reliant on Jose Reyes and it really showed in their record. As Reyes went, so did the Mets. Reyes hit only .243 in September and the Mets really struggled to score when he wasn't on base. For example, this series we just lost against Florida he went 1 for 12 the entire series and the Mets only scored a total of five runs in three games. He shouldn't be blamed entirely, but you can see what happens when an offense relies on one person to jump start them.
Another problem with the offense was how big of a drop it is from the top of the lineup to the bottom. I will contend with anyone that on paper we should have the best top of the lineup in the entire league. Once you get to the 6, 7, 8 hitters, however, it was such a dropoff that it was a bit staggering. If Ryan Church returns to his pre-concussion self next year (I suspect he will), the Mets will have a very potent lineup all the way to 7. Luis Castillo was absolutely dreadful offensively, Church really struggled down the stretch and our catchers were offensively challenged. Some people will contend that Brian Schneider is a defensive catcher, but going three months without a homerun is troubling and his defense was not nearly as good as advertised and Ramon Castro had his moments but they were few and far.
Another potential problem next year might be the age of our bench players. Tatis, Easley, Anderson, Alou are old and each was plagued with injuries at one point or another in the season. Tatis and Easley have one thing in common, however, in that they were both great in clutch situations this year. Which brings me to my next point...
3) David Wright is not clutch.
I can only remember a few times this year that Wright did something good in a clutch spot. The last week or so really showed me how bad he failed in the late innings. There's been many instances where I recall seeing Wright strike out in the 9th during a close game or hitting into double plays that absolutely killed any type of rally when we were down big. I'm not saying I don't want Wright on my team because that would be stupid, but it is a bit telling and troubling that Lou Piniella decided to pitch to him, the team's RBI leader, instead of Beltran and Delgado when we had no outs and a runner on third in the 9th against the Cubs. Wright struck out, Beltran and Delgado get intentionally walked and the bottom of the lineup fails to score the runner on third. Expect Wright's failures to become quite noticeable if the Mets have yet another collapse next year. And while it's easy to blame the offense as I have, it's even easier (and correct) to place the blame for this year's collapse on...
4) One of the worst bullpen's of all time.
Easily the biggest problem for the Mets was the bullpen. They had the most blown saves after the All Star break and watching each game meant shitting your pants in fear being on the edge of your seat until the last out. I honestly cannot remember more than two times the last two months where the Mets had three quick outs in the late innings. It was staggering how bad they were at getting outs. Heilman in particular was just awful all season, always coming within a strike of getting out of the inning and then giving up 2+ runs. It was absolutely infuriating watching them get lit up on a nightly basis. They single handedly cost Johan Santana the Cy Young, blowing 7-8 games in which he left with the lead (No, really, I'm not exaggerating). Seriously, Santana should have won at least 20-22 games this year and he'd be the no-brainer choice for the Cy Young. And just when it seemed like they turned the corner, the bullpen would give us an ugly loss that would leave most teams deflated for the next game as well... which brings me to the positive things I saw this year from the Mets.
5) Jerry's our man.
All signs point to Jerry Manuel coming back next year, which I believe is the right choice. He is the perfect manager for this team; calm but fierce, optimistic but realistic. He managed this team as well as anyone could have given the circumstances, and he did what he could with that shitty bullpen. What I really love about him is that he refuses to let his players get down on themselves after a really tough loss. There were many times that the Mets would lose a heartbreaker, only to come back the next day and win. I guarantee the Mets would have won if there was a game played tomorrow.
6) The young players were great.
Daniel Murphy and Nick Evans were very pleasant surprises and I'm sure both will be back next year. Niese has some very nasty stuff but asking him to start his major league career during the playoff run was a questionable call. Hopefully the young players don't get cocky and continue to work hard.
7) Our starting pitching can be the best in the league.
If there's one person who impressed me more than the rookies, it was definitely Mike Pelfrey. The difference between Pelfrey at the start of the year and Pelfrey at the end was incredible. He definitely has the stuff to be an ace for the Mets (or any team for that matter). Similarly, Oliver Perez seems to be reaching his potential and he's been DEATH vs above .500 teams. The only thing that worries me about him is his lack of concentration against the mediocre teams. Hopefully John Maine returns healthy next year as a starter or even a reliever. I think Pedro's pitched his last game for the Mets, but I think Niese will be able to develop next year and be a great pitcher in a few years. And finally, Santana was MONEY this year, he did everything that was expected of him. He's the ace we sorely needed last year and you know you'll be in a ballgame with him on the mound. Yesterday's performance against the Marlins was one of the greatest pitching performances I've ever seen. A rotation of Santana, Pelfrey, Perez, Maine, and whoever is the 5th starter gives us a great chance almost every night, and that's all you can really ask for.
I'll write about what the Mets should do in the offseason tomorrow or something.

Black Cat Is Now The Black Bat
The Miracle Mets of '69 had a black cat circle around Ron Santo when they played the Chicago Cubs. We won the World Series that year. Tonight, the Mets actually caught a fucking break for once... thanks in large part to a black bat. Picture this: 5th inning, down 2-0 to the best team (record-wise) in the National League, and having lost three straight games and looking at a fourth as the offense looks dead in the water. Then it happens. Nick Evans gets hit by a pitch, Santana up to bat. Tries to bunt Evans over but fails as he hits the floor having avoided getting hit by the pitch. Then the improbable happens; he hits a grounder to the right side, breaking his bat in the process... which proceeds to stop right in front of the ball and stopping it just enough that Santana reaches 1st base. A few minutes later, the bases are loaded and an RBI single by Wright ties the game as Santana scores from second base. Unbelievable. We add four more in the next inning and Santana pitches a gem until he's taken out after the 8th. Now I'm not saying this is going to propel the Mets to a World Series victory (Shit, I still doubt they will make the playoffs altogether), but if they do somehow win it all I can point to this night as the night everything changed for us.

Mets and Jets Both Failing Tonight
Looks as if both teams aren't making the playoffs this year... ok, perhaps a bit premature for the Jets but I really don't see the Mets winning 3 of 4 and 2 of 3 from Chicago and Florida. Brewers? Play two shitty teams to end the season. If they don't make the playoffs, they are truly fucking terrible. Mets getting cockslapped by Chicago tonight and Favre just failed taking a sack to kick us off field goal range. Disappointing seasons fo sho.

My Time At The Hospital
Since I'm already bored here at the hospital, I might as well jot down a time line of the time spent here... so here we go.
5:51PM- Fair amount of people here waiting for their doctor. I think I'm half as young as anyone here, which concerns me since I'll now assume they give free prostate exams to everyone (forcefully I'm sure). My appointment's at 6:30, doubt I'll see the doctor before 7:30. =/
5:56PM- A guy with a Dirt Devil vacuum in the face book bag got called by one of two nurses who spreek Brokren engrish. Let's see if the guy comes back walking awkwardly.
6:08PM- The good news is they're giving Family Guy on the TV, with the laughing and the jokes and the comedy and the *starts blathering* [/Bill Cosby]. Bad news? Commercials for that fucking "Chihuahua" movie. More bad news? I'M AT THE HOSPITAL WAITING TO GET SHOTS. -_-
6:25PM- Got called.
6:30PM- Got my blood pressure, weight, temperature checked. So far, so good. Big lol @ the lady that got her weight checked before me asking how much 100 something kilos was and finding out its 250 lbs. No sign of the vacuum cleaner guy. Poor guy, probably can't even walk anymore after that rectal exam. Now to play the waiting game once more, made more difficult by the fact that they're giving Friends on the TV. =/
6:36PM- This guy next to me is holding a GPS (for a car) in his hand whilst giving directions on the phone... and he gets called. I'm getting hungry.
6:45PM- It's really cold here, I think it'd give Lexington Steele a case of the limp dick. Should bring a hoodie next time I'm here.
7:05PM- Only a few people left, I think I'll get called in the next 20 minutes or so. Mets game should be starting soon. How much will they lose by tonight?
7:18PM- What is up with these African ass names being called? Oh right, Harlem Hospital. Still waiting to get called.
7:23PM- The Insider's big secret about Sarah Palin? SHE LUVS VAN HALEN =O. Also, she's a thrifter who likes gettin' her stew on as she watches this shitty show.
7:39PM- Still waiting. I'm almost sure they're gonna make me come back tomorrow for my shots and I DEFINITELY don't want to come back to this place for awhile. I think I'm getting frostbite here.
7:47PM- Down to like 4 people waiting, I'm sure I'll be the last one called if I actually get called.
7:54PM- "IT'S TOO COLD HERE, YA'LL NEED TO COMPLAIN. OLD FOLKS AIN'T SUPPOSED TO GET DIS COLD. DON'T YA'LL GOT HEAT IN HERE?" *looks at old Latin couple* "MUCHO FRIO!"
Also, vacuum guy never left...
8:10PM- I'm glad I'm not sick or anything because I would've died 20 times already. Me and some lady left to go... and now I'm the last one here, pretty deserted here.
8:38PM- Finally, someone will get to look at my balls whilst I cough! Hope it's a doctor this time.
8:55PM- No shots, appointment for November. Waste of time, today was. Off to the train.

Perhaps I Prematurely Shot My Wad
[/Arrested Development]
Somehow the Mets made a ferocious comeback last night to pull out the win, just wish they'd won THE GAME THEY WERE LEADING 7-0 TWO NIGHTS AGO.
In a completed non-related story, that new Ice Cube film looks pretty cheesy/heart-warming/gay/etc. Whilst looking at the reviews for it on Metacritic, I couldn't believe who directed this cheesy/heart-warming/gay/etc movie. I'll give you a hint: He's jonesin for a fix of dat Hollywood mix!!11!

Fucking Mets SUCK!
[/O'Reilly]
Best game of the season... for a Phillies fan. It really is AMAZIN' how the Mets find ways to fail. Tonight was a textbook example of their failures this year; score early, get a case of the offensive (and for that matter, pitching) limp dick after the sixth inning. No way they're winning in October with this roster.

-Got my PS3 a few days later than expected. MGS4 is pretty damn good and Fight Night Round 3 definitely pwns. Don't know what my next game will be... perhaps COD4?!
- Haven't been up this late since... yesterday. My sleeping pattern right now can best be described as "fucking shitty."
- Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson= Beautiful album. "Are You Real"= Beautiful song.
- I'm pretty much broke right now, still waiting to get my money from Amazon; should be in my account by the end of the week.
- Quote of the week... blame my lack of sleep all you want but I was dying at this for 10 minutes last night at 4 in the morning:
SportsCenter Anchor #1: "He spent most of last year on the DL with back problems, but on this play he had his pitcher's back amirite?"
SportsCenter Anchor #2: "Heh, you're rite!!!11"

- Been watching Arrested Development lately. [ASS] on my part for not watching this show sooner.
- Wish I had a job right about now.
- Let's see how long this "No Chipotle" rule lasts. I'm guessing a few days at most. It's good fucking food, bros.
- I want a PS3 already, have to wait two more weeks, grr.
- This blog might get changed to a music blog soon, haven't decided. Might start another blog just for that... anyone want to get in on this?

So much done, so little time to write it down. Been a great summer thus far, my prediction that something great would happen in '08 did happen so I'm really happy about that. Still no job, but I figure I'll find one soon. In the meantime, I hope I get to do jury duty to get some money and to have something to talk about afterwards. Been going to a lot of concerts lately, and having no job is definitely good to find new things to kill time with.

Two weeks of school left.
Two weeks left, including finals (I only have two). Anyway I changed the blog up a little bit, hopefully it looks better than before. So as Isaac mentioned on his blog, Death Cab's new album came out and it's really good. Not "Transatlanticism" good, but it's good nonetheless. Still looking for a job, which sucks but I still have a good 2 months ahead of the high schoolers who will be looking for jobs so thats always good. Life's good, can't complain much. 3 more weeks...

Roughly 3 weeks left of school, I'm so fucking excited for the summer. Hopefully I get a job this year but I'm not holding my breath. Uhm, vacation this week has been pretty good. Just sleeping and relaxing for the first time in a couple of months. I still need to do some papers which I'll probably finish tonight/tomorrow. Alot of stuff has happened since my last post, but I'll keep you informed about where things are going. Summer is looking good right about now.

Have you ever heard a song that you don't want to tell people about because it feels so personal? I have. I don't think I can share this song with anyone, ever. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Wednesday, March 26, 2008
Hm, near the end of March already. So today I had jury duty... well, kind of. I got there around 8:30 in the morning, got cavity searched as soon as I got in (JK!... or not), then I grabbed my 12 sided double dildo (JK!... or not) and went on my way to the juror's lounge. Once the lady bitch got there, she gave us a bunch of instructions and told certain people to go to another building. As luck would have it, full time students had to go to the other building so they could delay jury duty for them. The funny thing is that after she mentioned that full time students had to go, I hadn't heard what room I had to go to so I stayed until she mentioned it again. Then she said "ex-convicts or people with a record, room 139 in 60 Centre Street," and at that point I got up and left, which made people give me a sketchy look as I left which made me lol as I went down the elevator. As I was walking out of the building some hick asks me if he's at the right place. I tell him "Yeah" and then he tells me in Spanish about how he's not a citizen or resident so he doesn't know what to do. So I told him not to worry about jury duty, that's the least of his problems and walked away laughing. At the New York State Supreme Court (thats the building they made me go to) I talked to an officer who asked me what day I would be able to come back, so I picked June 5th since I'll be done with school by then. So I've delayed the inevitable for at least another 2 1/2 months, hooray! -__-

Funny how jury duty is the one of those things that really makes me feel old. Sigh. How does that whole process work anyway? How many days/weeks is this thing gonna take? Do I have to wear a shirt and tie everyday?!? AND PANTS?!? I DON'T KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!! [/lex luger]
Maybe I should just say I'm prejudiced against all races, that always works rite?!!?!
Anyway, not much has happened since school started except for me being completely fucking broke which sucks eggs. I want to get a job but I have tons upon tons of work at school and I have been on this TERRIBLE sleeping drought that makes me wake up tired as fuck. Surprisingly, this hasn't affected my mood in the least. I've been feeling pretty happy for awhile now but I have no idea why. Even Valentine's Day I was feeling happy, and let's just say I don't much care for that day my good sir(s). Except for the "I choo-choo-choose you" card, that card is GENIUS.
And now for a few points about the year thus far:
- I've been having very, VERY vivid dreams and I'm starting to remember most of them which would make for good stories I suppose. Some good dreams, and others that are just very horror movie in the face (read: stupid).
- I'm convinced something big is going to happen for/to me, not sure if its good or bad though. I'm hoping good.
-I'm convinced something big is going to happen to someone I know, particularly bad. No, I don't see anyone dying or some extreme thing like that. At least they'll take some solace in knowing that much.
- I'm really looking forward to this summer. Ever since I started college I've really enjoyed my summers. Probably because thats the time most of the jerks come back from school. Or maybe it's that giant assfuck 4 month break we get. Yeah, I think it's the latter.
- Turning 20 this year, bigggg cocktease of a year this is. 2009 and subsequently 21 is the money year. I wonder how much things will change when I'm 21, if at all.
- Trying to make new friends, for real this time.
- My first year that I get to vote for our President. Truth be told, I'm not sold on anyone yet and like I've said before (I think), I'll probably be voting against someone rather than voting for someone.
- As soon as I get money, I plan on buying a few books. Particularly philosophy books and books on governments and how they work.
- Brawl is going to occupy most of my free time. I need a life. =]

Some of the best lyrics ever written imo
Godspeed You! Black Emperor- The Dead Flag Blues
The car's on fire and there's no driver at the wheel
And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides
And a dark wind blows
The government is corrupt
And we're on so many drugs
With the radio on and the curtains drawn
We're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine
And the machine is bleeding to death
The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
It went like this
The buildings tumbled in on themselves
Mothers clutching babies picked through the rubble and pulled out their hair
The skyline was beautiful on fire
All twisted metal stretching upwards
Everything washed in a thin orange haze
I said, "Kiss me, you're beautiful..
These are truly the last days"
You grabbed my hand and we fell into it
Like a daydream or a fever
We woke up one morning and fell a little further down
For sure it's the valley of death
I open up my wallet
And it's full of blood

Well, back to school tomorrow. I think I've had enough time off so now it's time to buckle down and get this new semester over with. Hopefully I enjoy my classes for the most part, I have classes on Friday now so that's gonna be a change from the last year or so. Hopefully I'll start talking to new people but who knows, I'll just go with the flow and see where the next 4 months take me.

Been a few weeks since my last update, so here's a brief recap:
- Spent the New Year with the jerks. Had a great time as always but I don't much care for going home on the train at 3 a.m.
- Got all my grades back just this last week... A-, A-, A, A, A. Can't complain about my 3.8 GPA at all wooo.
-Hanging out with the jerks as much as possible before they leave.
- [South Park Reference] ???
- Profit [/South Park Reference]
2008 has started off great thus far, just hoping it stays this way the rest of the year.
